The largest national park in Africa, it is larger in size than Switzerland.
The Nyerere National Park is formally known as Selous Game Reserve the name given after English Explore Fredrick Courtney Selous. Captain Selous was rested in this place after the heavy battle with Germany during the first World war.
The Nyerere National Park is a fantastic wild destination that is sited in the Southern circuit of Tanzania national parks. This park is known for having a lot of Rivers and Lakes which offers a constant supply of water to the fabulous games including Elephants, Wild Dogs, Buffalo, Hippo, crocodiles, and the Fantastic huge pride of Lions all the year long.

When to go to Nyerere Park Park
The mighty Rufiji river is watering Nyerere Park together with some Lakes which are the lifeblood of the wild animals in the park. During the dry season of July through October, these sources are accommodating a huge concentration of wildlife gathering around looking for water.
Nyerere national park is possibly the finest place in African Safari for glimpsing the once-endangered African Hunting Dogs (wild dogs). There are fantastic Huge herds of African elephants, plenty of lion pride, leopards are spotted easily, hyena, kudu, eland, impala, bushbuck, hippo, and huge Nile crocodiles are housed along these rivers and lakes.
Nyerere National Park is a paradise for over 400 Species of Bird which makes the park to have a unique phenomenon.
This park experiencing Wildlife migrates from both east and south which makes it to be a wild resident as well as a migratory.
The Activities
Standard daytime game drives are common activities here However this park has the finest Boating Safaris, Walking Safari, and fly camping trips. Siwandu, Beho Beho, and Sand Rivers Selous are properties that are known for offering these activities.
July through October is a dry season at Nyerere Park and its surrounding, during this time animals, are congested around lakes and rivers, this offers a great game view.
However, never underestimate the rain seasons of April to May, at this time,the park is offering a marvelous game view to some areas. The green season of December through February is a beautiful time to visit too where you’ll be having a great time to see newborns and bird watching.
